Will Sabatini, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
A graduate of the Barry University, Master of Science program in Anesthesiology, Will first began his practice as a licensed Registered Nurse in Florida, December 1995. Will immediately began working in a local acute care hospital as a Post-Operative Surgical Nurse. In a short time, Will progressed to becoming an adult and pediatric emergency room nurse where he remained for three (3) years. Will then took a multiple-month ICU course and moved to the ICU environment as a Surgical ICU nurse. After five years of practice, Will began the Master of Science program in Anesthesiology at Barry University, Miami, Florida. As part of that program Will trained alongside residents in Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, OB-GYN, Orthopedic Surgery, Pathology, Pediatrics, and Pharmacy in the Orlando Health system. Will completed that program in May of 2003. Will has been a Board Certified CRNA since July of 2003.
Will’s first seven (7) years post-training were spent in the large Trauma Center/Acute Care Hospital setting. Will handled a heavy daily patient volume including but not limited to anesthetics for Neuro, Cardiac, Cardiac Electrophysiology, Pulmonary, General, Pediatric, Orthopedic, Urologic, ENT, Ophthalmic, Maxillofacial, GYN, and Vascular surgical procedures. In addition to Will’s typical daily O.R. responsibilities, he also provided Critical Care services to the trauma program at Delray Medical Center, Delray Beach, FL. This responsibility required 24-hour in-house call on weekends and evenings. Will has seven (7) years of direct experience treating traumatically injured patients in this setting. As the in-house CRNA, Will was also responsible for providing Critical Care services to all intensive care units. Those intensive care units included providing critically ill or critically injured patient care to Surgical, Trauma, Neuro, and Medical ICU.
Additionally, Will has been the Program Coordinator for the Loma Linda University Medical Center Transplant Institute, Pediatric Kidney Transplant Program. Will was hired to reorganize the program after its prior coordinator had been gone for several months. During Will’s time, he was able to improve tracking and management of patients to the point that Loma Linda had a program first, five (5) children placed on UNOS. United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) is the private, non-profit organization that manages the nation’s organ transplant system under contract with the federal government.
Since 2010 Will has specialized in out-of-hospital surgical center and office-based anesthesia. Will has worked in every imaginable out-of-hospital setting including but not limited to Dental offices, Oral and Maxillofacial offices, Plastic and Cosmetic surgical offices, Endoscopy centers, Podiatry offices, Orthopedic/Pain Management surgical centers, and Bariatric surgical centers.
